Young chess player from Kramatorsk took the «gold» and «bronze» of the championship of Ukraine

Young chess player from the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region Simon Matusow won in Bucha Kiev region gold and bronze medals in the championship of Ukraine on chess among children till 12 years, and will now represent Ukraine in the Junior European and world Championships.

On Monday 30 may, reported the Office for physical culture and sports of the Donetsk regional military-civil administration.

«Speaking at the final of the Ukrainian championship in classical chess among boys till 12 years, which took place from 17 to 27 may in the city of Bucha, Simon scored 8 points from possible 11. This result was more on point than the nearest of his pursuers, and allowed him confidently to take first place», — stated in the message.

In addition, the young player also became the bronze medalist of the championship of Ukraine on the blitz, gaining 8.5 points out of 11 possible.

According to the results of the may chess performances Matusow won the right to represent Ukraine in the Junior European and world Championships in 2016, which will take Czech Republic and Georgia in August and October respectively.
