The ashes of Alexander Oles need to return to Ukraine. The government should show respect for themselves and our national presence in the world About it on his page in Facebook said the ex-Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
«What happened with the ashes of Alexander Oles and his wife in Prague is a shocking news to all our people. It’s not about local or private drama. Talking about our national shrines», — he wrote.
The ashes of Alexander Oles, says Yatsenyuk, it is necessary to return to Ukraine: «to Bury the Poet and his wife should be in Kiev. He should be given the highest state honour».
«The funeral should be the Manifesto of our national dignity. I am confident that this event should involve all the state leaders, MPs, prominent Ukrainian cultural figures, the diplomatic corps», — he added.
Then, said the leader of «popular front», it is necessary to return to the protection of our Holy places abroad. «The government should show respect for themselves and our national presence in the world,» — said Yatsenyuk.
We will remind, Alexander Oles (1878-1944) until recently was buried in a cemetery in Prague. On 3 January 2017, his remains were exhumed, as in its place decided to bury another person — Vladimir Myhaylishyna, which in recent years has paid rent for the grave of the Ukrainian poet.
Oles will be reburied in Ukraine.
