Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader «popular front» Yatsenyuk ready to share with the United States of America project «the Wall», because it is cheaper and more effective one that the United States intends to build on the border with Mexico.
He stated this at the V Kyiv security forum for youth, answering a question of participants of the event, reports «UKRINFORM».
«What’s interesting, actually, in our project («the Wall») the Baltic countries also began to build the border… If necessary, I can transfer the project to the United States of America – will be cheaper and more efficient. By the way, I’ve counted according to their calculations, they have 1 km of the border is about 10 million dollars. This is 30-40 times more expensive than the draft, which is available in Ukraine», — said Yatsenyuk.
He focused on the fact that in two decades and «no government, no authority» was not undertaken for the construction of the Ukrainian-Russian state border, and only in 2014 this project started to implement the government he leads.
«Unfortunately, funding due to the fact that I am not the Prime Minister, is significantly reduced. But more than 10 percent of the work we did. So the funding went, as was proposed by my government, in late 2018 we would have built the border,» — says Yatsenyuk.
He noted that this year the construction of the «Wall» in the budget of only 200 million UAH, and he and his faction of the popular front intends to address this issue to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman.
«I know that the Prime Minister, the government and the interior Ministry and State border service — all stand for the completion of this project. My position is very clear: the border between Ukraine and Russia will be built», — said the leader of «popular front».
