Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that he had no conflict with the Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Vladimir Demchishin noting that he «stood on the path of correction». The Prime Minister said in the program «Right to rule» of the TV channel «1+1».
In particular, answering the question of how does the head of government to insist on the resignation of the head of the Ministry, Yatsenyuk answered: «He stood on the path of correction».
The Prime Minister also gave credit Demchishin to hold a tender for the purchase of equipment for state holding «Ukrenergo». During the auction the purchase price was reduced from the original 2.2 billion to about 900 million UAH. «Saved 1.3 billion USD… of Budgetary funds», — said the head of government.
Recall that the Minister Demchyshyn was appointed on a quota of President Poroshenko in December 2012. In the period of joint work Yatseniuk has repeatedly stated claims to work of the Minister, directly hinting at the necessity of his retirement from the government.
One of the main causes of discontent of the Prime Minister was a contract for the supply of electricity to Crimea, which was an internal investigation.
Later to the list of complaints was added the tender for the purchase of transformers to Ukrenergo. The contest was repeatedly frustrated every time in favor of one party — Zaporozhye plant «Zaporozhtransformator», controlled according to media reports, the businessman Konstantin Grigorishin.
«Zaporozhtransformator» PJSC is included in the group «Energy standard» and is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of transformer equipment. The company produces power transformers, power reactors, monitoring systems of transformers.
On 4 February at an extraordinary meeting of the government Ministers earlier submitted their resignation, announced the readiness to withdraw their applications. So, decided to resign, the Minister of agrarian policy and food Oleksiy Pavlenko, the Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yuriy stets, Minister of health of Ukraine Oleksandr Kvitashvili and Minister of infrastructure Andriy Pivovarsky.
However, Ministers put forward a number of conditions under which they are willing to continue their work in government.
In this case, who resigned on 3 February, the head of the Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine aivaras abromavicius has decided not to withdraw his application.
An emergency Cabinet meeting was held immediately after the meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Parliament speaker Volodymyr Groisman with ambassadors of the countries «Big seven» (G7), during which they discussed the fate of reforms in the country.
On 8 February, the leader of the faction «Block of Petro Poroshenko» Yuriy Lutsenko acknowledged the crisis in the coalition and said that the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has no support coalitions for decision-making in the Verkhovna Rada.
The report of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada is scheduled for February 16.
