He said this on Monday, November 28, during interrogation in the Svyatoshinsky district court of Kiev during the video conference as a witness in the case against five former «berkutovets», accused in the shooting of Maidan activists in February 2014, UNIAN reports.

To the question, what is the number of people killed on the Maidan he reported to then-interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko, Yanukovych said: «I don’t remember, I know that this number was the largest for all the days struggles. I do not remember exactly, it was, I think, if I’m not mistaken, about 70 to 80 people, and wounded it twice more.»

Yanukovych also said that no one was talking about the suppression of the Maidan.

«I haven’t had anyone talk about the suppression of independence: neither in Ukraine, nor beyond it, nor with whom, if to talk about names,» said the ex-President.

«With regard to the issues on which I had conversations – I had conversations about resolving the political crisis, the focus was primarily on the signing of the Agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone with the EU,» Yanukovych added.
