Yahoo will change its name, and its head will leave his post

The new owners of Yahoo does not plan to renew the agreement with the most influential woman in the IT field, Marissa Mayer.

American Internet company Yahoo! Inc. after completion of the transaction with Verizon Communications Inc. change the name and lose its Executive Director, Marissa Mayer and a few top managers, writes TechCrunch.

After the completion of the sale of the core business of Yahoo will change its name to Altaba Inc., according to a press release from the company. Altaba remaining assets include a stake in Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Yahoo Japan Corp.

We will remind, the American telecommunication company Verizon Communications Inc. in July 2016, have agreed on the purchase of Yahoo! for 4.8 billion dollars.

As it became known to journalists, only five members of the Board of Directors will remain with the company Altaba: Thor Braham, Eric Brandt, Katherine Friedman, Thomas McInerney and Jeffrey Smith. The rest of the top management of Yahoo, including CEO Marissa Mayer, will retire.

In 2014 the authoritative Fortune magazine included Mayer on the list of most successful women under the age of 40 years. And already in March 2016, the same publication placed it in the most disappointing top-managers of the planet.
