Verkhovna Rada voted for the abolition of the law on electronic Declaration

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday, 18 February 2016, are unable to abolish the previous law (No. 3755) the withdrawal of postponing the introduction of electronic Declaration by public officials, reports «Interfax-Ukraine».

MPs were not given the minimum necessary 226 votes for the corresponding draft resolution on cancellation of the decision of the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis and in whole the draft law on amendments to the law on prevention of corruption regarding the work of the electronic submission and publication of declarations of public servants.

Earlier the first Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrei Parubiy said that the law, which cancelled the provision on the postponement of the introduction of electronic Declaration will be amended.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday supported the second reading and in General bill No. 3755 on amendments to the law of Ukraine on countering corruption, concerning the operation of the electronic system for the provision and publication of declarations of persons authorized to perform functions in the state or in local government. The law was adopted with the amendments of the initiator of the document Denisenko, which he made with the voice.

One of the amendments, providing false information in the Declaration would be punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term up to two years with prohibition to occupy relevant positions for up to three years, but this provision shall enter into force on 1 January 2017. According to another amendment, the Declaration needs to make information about valuable property if its value exceeds 150 minimum wages (in the current legislation — 50). Also, according to the changes, not be declared in cash, funds in Bank accounts and lent to third parties, contributions to credit unions and other financial institutions kabankova, as well as assets precious metals total value of up to 150 minimum wages.

In turn, the head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski has criticized the bill as such, «does not meet anti-corruption obligations, which took over the leadership of Ukraine».
