According to deputies from the opposition, the President is responsible for the economic and social crisis in the country, and for obstructing the work of the National Assembly, aimed at a way out of the situation.

«Venezuela today is the second most dangerous country in the world, millions of children suffer from malnutrition. Maduro allowed to appear for the greatest inflation in the world and not given to hold a referendum on the issue of early termination of their powers,» — said the parliamentarian Juan Pablo Gualala.

Pro-government forces, in turn, emphasize that the resolution did not actually have any power, because the procedure of impeachment of the head of state is not stipulated by the Constitution of Venezuela.

The national Assembly (Parliament) of Venezuela has no authority for the removal of the President from power. This is stated on the official website of the Supreme court of the Bolivarian Republic.

Note that in recent months, the Venezuelan opposition, which in the last parliamentary elections in December 2015 received bolshinstvom in Parliament, sought a referendum on the issue of early termination of powers of the President.

With the participation of international mediators on 30 October was the beginning of the communication between the representatives of the Executive power and the Bloc of democratic unity, uniting the parliamentary opposition. During the next round of negotiations on 11-12 November, the parties reached a number of agreements. However, the opposition refused to participate in a new meeting with the government on 6 December.

In mid-November, the Supreme court of Venezuela forbade the Parliament to proceed with the preparation for the impeachment of Maduro.
