Unused «Kyoto millions» are in the Ukreximbank and the state Treasury — Ministry of Finance

About 100 million Euro of «Kyoto» money, most of which still remains unused since their receipt, were stored in Ukreximbank. This was stated by the Deputy Director of the Department of Finance industry of the Ministry of Finance Anatoliy Danilishin, reports «UKRINFORM».

«On 9 February, the unused balance (Kyoto) is 2 billion up 381.6 million hryvnia, and the balance in euros is 32 million euros, and the remainder in local currency — 1 billion 448,3 million hryvnias», — he said.

Danylyshyn added that money in Euro, according to earlier signed the agreement, are Ukreximbank and converted into local currency funds on a Single Treasury account.

Responding to clarifying questions of participants, he reported that all funds from the time of receipt was in the Bank, allocated to a specific plan.

Danylyshyn noted that it is difficult to say whether they were used by the Bank in its sole discretion, «They continued. It was a condition the Japanese side to keep them in the Euro.»

Recall, Ukraine in 2009, Japan implemented the emission reduction units for 430 million euros, in 2010 Spain 30 million euros.

12 October 2011 Ukraine’s participation in international emissions trading was temporarily suspended due to violations of reporting rules on greenhouse gases for the years 1990-2008, in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol.
