Ukraine and the European Commission have agreed to resume exports of poultry products of Ukrainian origin to the European Union in accordance with the principle of regionalization.
«The issue of regionalization (the supply of chicken) was one of the most sensitive in communication with the European Commission. As a result of discussions and decisions between Ukraine and the EU already applies the principle of regionalisation in the trade of poultry and poultry products. Today, the export of Ukrainian poultry to the EU resumed», — stated in the message of Ministry of agrarian policy and food.
The relevant agreements were reached during the meeting of Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Taras Kutovy with the Commissioner Vitanica Andrukaitis during the «Green week» in Berlin.
«We are committed not only to the facilitation of mutual trade, but on the full adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation with the provisions of the Association Agreement EU-Ukraine in the sphere of sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) with the aim of mutual recognition of equivalence», — said the Chairman of Gospodarevskaya Volodymyr Lapa, who is cited in the report.
As reported, the state foods and consumer service in early December of 2016 received official notification of the prohibition to export to the EU of poultry meat and by-products from the entire territory of the EU in connection with the registration of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5) in the Kherson region.
In connection with the identified in the Kherson region with avian influenza, a ban on the supply of eggs from this area to Hong Kong.
