Ukraine will compete for the Indian aviation market

Indian company Reliance Limited Defence and the Ukrainian Antonov company, April 27 signed a Memorandum of partnership with the aim of implementing in the Indian market of various aircraft based on the An-148/An-158.

The agreements were signed on the results of participation of «Ukroboronprom» at the exhibition of arms and equipment DefExpo 2016 in India and the process of negotiations with the state enterprise «Spetstechnoexport», writes ЛІГА.net.

Reliance Defence Limited in cooperation with «Antonov» will participate in the tender of the government of India for the supply of aircraft. In the case of winning the tender, which is scheduled for summer of this year, the planned creation of a joint venture with the further localization of production in India.

We will remind, on March 28-31 at the exhibition of arms and equipment DefExpo 2016 in the Indian state of Goa, the state enterprise «Antonov» presented a draft of his new transport aircraft An-132, which was developed to replace the An-32 and An-148 and An-178.

At the end of the exhibition «Ukroboronprom» and Indian companies signed 15 memoranda of cooperation in the defense sector.

The Ukrainian delegation spent about ten talks with India’s defense Minister and the Supreme command of the Armed forces of India, as well as more than 30 leading Indian manufacturers of products for military and special purposes, in particular, with Reliance Defence Limited, Tata Power Company Limited, Punj Lloyd Ltd, Larsen Turbo.

With Limited Reliance Defence signed a Memorandum on joint development of a multipurpose military transport aircraft An for the Indian air force and for civilian needs.

We are talking about building 500 cars, with a total value of 5.3 billion dollars for 15 years. This plane can be replaced by a previously frozen Russian-Indian project Multi-role Transport Aircraft.

Also with Limited Reliance Defence reached agreements on long-term cooperation for the supply of gas turbine units manufactured by Zorya-Mashproekt, which is also included in the composition of the concern «Ukroboronprom», for their further installation on the equipment of the Indian naval forces».

At the moment India already operates more than a hundred transport aircraft An-32 of the Ukrainian production and decided to extend their operation.
