The Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine is preparing another claim against the Russian Federation in the framework of joint participation in the world trade organization, said on his page on the social network Facebook by the Deputy Minister of economic development and trade – trade representative of Ukraine Nataliya Mykolska.
«During the week we will prepare for consultations under the WTO decision on the trade dispute with Russia, and are also preparing materials for a new dispute,» said Gaina.
However, she did not specify details and subject of new claims of Ukraine to Russia, citing the publication of details in the near future.
«Last week we hosted a delegation of experts of the WTO Secretariat to prepare the first report of the trade policy of Ukraine, which is scheduled for 19-21 April 2016 — wrote the Gaina. – This document, as currently it already contains about 200 pages, along with report on the government’s trade policy is one of the two main materials that will be presented to the members of the WTO.»
The Mykolska noted that currently the trade policy review requires further development, and the Ministry of economic development jointly with other agencies need to collect the final document no later than the end of the year.
The trade representative stressed that the procedure for the submission of the trade policy reviews are all member countries of the WTO, including the USA, China, EU and Japan, as it allows to implement the principle of predictability of trade regimes. For Ukraine such a procedure is carried out once in 6 years.
Recall that in late October, Ukraine filed a lawsuit to the world trade organization against Russia on trade restrictions in respect of carriages and turnouts of domestic production. The lawsuit was the first in the total package of claims produced by Ukraine. The essence of the claim of Ukraine that the export of Ukrainian carriages and turnouts due to the trade restrictions imposed by Russia, has decreased from 1.7 billion dollars. in 2013 to 51 million. for 7 months of 2015.
Earlier, Ukraine has submitted to the world trade organization Committee on technical barriers to analyze the proposal introduced by Russia ban on imports of confectionery, dairy and juice products, including baby food and beer of Ukrainian origin.
Ukraine joined WTO in 2008, becoming the 152nd member.
