In Ukraine since the beginning of the epidemic season has died from the flu already 192 people, including 152 — from the influenza virus H1N1 (California, or swine flu), reports the press service of the Ministry of health.

«Since the beginning of the epidemic season, according to the information registered 192 laboratory-confirmed deaths from the flu, including 3 children up to 17 years and 1 fatal case among pregnant women. Identified as the influenza virus And the atypical — 22, the influenza virus type — 2 and influenza virus H1N1 (pdm09) — 152».

Since the beginning of epidemic season (from 28 September 2015 to 2 February 2016) in Ukraine were registered more than 3.2 million patients with influenza and SARS, chickenpox is 8.3% of the population.

From total number of cases of 62.8% are children under the age of 17.

The highest incidence rate of influenza and ARVI are recorded in the Kiev region and Kiev, which had, respectively, 14.1 per cent and 11.9% of the population. The lowest level of morbidity in Transcarpathian (5.2%) and Kharkiv (3.6 percent) regions.

For the last day ill more than 65 thousand people, of whom 50% are children under the age of 17 years.

For the fourth week in 2016 in 19 oblasts and in Kyiv the incidence of influenza exceeded the epidemic thresholds, in particular in 11 areas – more than 50%.

The highest number of fatal cases registered in the Odessa region – 34, in Vinnytsia – 13, Zaporizhia – 12, in Cherkasy – 13, Rivne – 11 Kiev – 11.

Note that the UNIAN with reference to the state of the state sanitary and epidemiological service in Rivne oblast reported that in Rivne region from the beginning of the epidemic period died already 12 people. The report notes that information about the number who died in the area in the near future may change upwards.

Again, the health Ministry said that «of the dead for medical care timely appealed only the third part».

The analysis of deaths showed that all the dead were not vaccinated against influenza.

According to acting Chairman of the State sanitary-epidemiological service of Ukraine Sviatoslav Protas, «an analysis of those tragic deaths that are recorded today due to severe course of influenza, shows that not a single person who died was not vaccinated against influenza, and later sought medical help.»

Since the beginning of the epidemic season, according to operative data, have been vaccinated against flu 927 124 thousand people, which constitutes 0.32% of the total population, of which children under 17 years – 21%.

Note that, according to the published on the website of the Ministry of healthcare information, as of February 3 were recorded 185 deaths from the influenza virus, 161 — from the flu virus H1N1. And as of today, February 4, the Ministry of health reported 152 deaths from swine flu since the beginning of epidsezona.

For the past day, 3 February, the registered capital of 4 999 patients with influenza and ARVI, which is about 700 less than for the last day.

About it have informed in the press service of Kyiv city state administration with reference to the Department of health.

According to the data obtained, the number admitted to hospitals in Kiev for a day February 3, decreased slightly. Thus, the treatment of enrolled 119 patients, 79 SARS patients (33 children and 46 adults), 40 patients with influenza (1 children, 39 adults).

As of 4 February, health care institutions, which operate infectious, therapeutic and pulmonary Department, in-patient treatment is 976 patients with influenza and SARS, of which 678 patients with SARS and 298 patients with influenza. Of 298 patients with influenza in 107 patients was diagnosed with pneumonia as a complication of the disease. Of 298 patients with influenza 270 people receive treatment in the conditions of offices and 28 people are in intensive care.

Now in health care 228 available beds (92 children, 136 adults), free of the ventilator (non-invasive) for the treatment of SARS and influenza: adults 14, children 2.

It is noted that according to the information of the Main Department of state sanitary and epidemiological service in Kyiv on the 4th week of the epidemic season was observed exceeding the epidemic threshold of incidence is 13,08%.

The symptoms of H1N1

The symptoms of H1N1 flu in most cases are similar to symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever (high temperature), cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle pain, tachycardia, headache, chills and weakness. In some cases, the symptoms also include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Temperature is most often higher than for SARS and other respiratory diseases that are not caused by the influenza virus. In rare cases in patients with H1N1 flu experience symptoms of respiratory illness without fever.

There are also dangerous symptoms, when you should immediately consult a physician. The patient should immediately seek medical help if the background of influenza or SARS he has shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, blueness of lips, nausea or vomiting, signs of dehydration, convulsions, blurred consciousness, and if the temperature is very high and decreases with antipyretics or remains elevated longer than 4-5 days.

The parents of sick children with the flu also should immediately seek medical help if the child against diseases see the following symptoms: fast or difficult breathing, bluish or pale skin, refusal to drink, difficulty in passing urine (or no desire for a long time), lack of tears when crying, persistent nausea or vomiting, extreme lethargy and drowsiness, similar to fainting, or extreme degree of excitation, the child can be calm, pain or pressure in the chest, abdomen, sudden dizziness, syncope, confusion, disorientation.
