Ukraine could lose the right to «Eurovision-2017», because of the delays with the organization

Ukraine may lose the right to host the song contest «Eurovision» because of the delays with the organization. This was stated by the acting Director General of NTKU Alexander Harbin, according to TSN.

«In early October, the European broadcasting Union as the owner of the brand «Eurovision» gave NTU a «red card» on the timing and, in fact, disrupting preparations for Eurovision», — said Harabin.

Among the reasons, according to him, bureaucracy, imperfection of legislative acts and neglect of some officials to the competition.

While Harabin assured that in October the organizers of the «caught up and the gap with the three months was reduced to one.» So far, Ukraine is still behind schedule, but not so much noted Harabin.

The final decision of whether or not Ukraine Eurovision, the European broadcasting Union should adopt at the General Assembly, which will take place on 8 December.

Recall, Ukraine won the right to host the 62nd song contest «Eurovision-2017» as a result of Jamala’s song «1944» in Stockholm this year.

It is expected that the competition will be held in the exhibition centre on the Left Bank of the capital of Ukraine. The semifinals will be held on 9 and 11 may, the final on 13 may of the following year.

It is assumed that the contest «Eurovision-2017» in Kiev will take part record number of countries — is expected to 43 participants.

On 8 August, the Cabinet has allocated for carrying out of «Eurovision-2017» UAH 450 mln. In 2017, the song contest will be held at the capital’s International exhibition center on the Left Bank.
