Ukraine and Russia agreed on a mutual return of their trucks. Mode «going home» is entered until February 25

The Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine agreed to unimpeded return to Ukraine of Ukrainian trucks that the suspension of the transit remained in Russia or in Asia on the border with Russia.

According to the press service of the Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine, in return, the Ukrainian side will allow passage over Ukrainian territory of the Russian freight cars waiting to return home from the EU.

«This decision was agreed today with the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation. It will allow you to return home more than 600 of Ukrainian drivers who are running out of food and fuel for heating the car. The decision will allow the Ukrainian drivers to return to their families, and their employers to return their vehicles and to minimize inefficient simple on the territory of third countries», — stated in the message.

So-called mode of «going home» is entered from 16 to 25 February inclusive. Similarly, about 600 Russian cars will be able to return to Russia from EU countries.

The Ukrainian side will provide the support columns of Russian cars to the border with the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus.

«We call on activists in the next 10 days not impede the movement of Russian freight cars home. This is a guarantee that our Ukrainian drivers will be able to get of Ukraine», — said the Deputy Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Oksana Reiter.

The statement recalled that last week as a result of the situation, more than 350 trucks of Ukrainian origin were stopped on the territory of the Russian Federation, and more than 300 cars are in Asia, waiting for the return to Ukraine with transit through Russia. Similarly, on the territory of Ukraine activists was stopped about 60 trucks and more than 500 cars have accumulated on our Western border with the EU, waiting to return to Russia by transit through the territory of Ukraine.

Russia fully postanawia on its territory is transit freight vehicles registered in Ukraine. In response to results of the government meeting of 15 February was suspended Ukrainian transit permits to resolve the situation.

Earlier Tuesday 16 February, the Ministry of transport reported receiving an official response from the Ukrainian authorities hoped within days to withdraw all Russian trucks from the territory of Ukraine.

As reported, activists in 10 regions of Ukraine on 11 February started a termless action to prevent the departure from Ukraine in the direction of the international borders of trucks with Russian registration.

The participants of the blockade demand to recognize Russia as an aggressor country in all spheres of public-political life of Ukraine, in particular, by preventing the placement of business occupiers in Ukraine, termination of trade with Russia, establishing the ban on entry and transit through Ukraine Russian trucks.

In response to the actions of the activists, the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation on 14 February unilaterally suspended the movement of trucks on Ukrainian the Russian territory.

On 15 February, Russian media reported that Russia blocked the traffic on their territories of all Ukrainian automobile trucks, except those that follow to Kazakhstan under guard.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent to the Russian foreign Ministry a note with the requirement to explain the reasons for decisions taken, and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has demanded to lift the ban and adhere to the norms of international law.

On 15 February the Cabinet of Ministers decided to temporarily suspend the movement of Russian trucks through territory of Ukraine.

On the same day the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Andriy Pivovarsky has said that Ukraine and Russia will hold technical consultations on a resumption of the movement of trucks through the territory of both countries.
