Tusk: sanctions against Russia will be extended in December, and it’s more than hope

European Council President Donald Tusk hopes to extend the sanctions even before the EU summit in December.

He stated this on Thursday 24 November at a press conference after the summit Ukraine-EU, reports «European true».

«I hope, more than hope that the sanctions will be extended before the EU summit in December,» he said.

Tusk also said that sanctions associated with the implementation of the Minsk agreements and that the EU position unchanged.

Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko said that the sanctions must remain to fulfill the Minsk agreements and restoring the sovereignty of Ukraine. Today, the results of the summit Ukraine-EU in Brussels, Tusk said that the EU will keep sanctions against Russia until full compliance with the Minsk agreements on Eastern Ukraine: «We will not leave Ukraine alone, we appreciate the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities and of President Poroshenko of reforms under very difficult conditions,» he said.

Media reported that the EU may extend sanctions in December, before the inauguration of Donald trump in the United States.
