Turkish foreign Minister: We support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not recognize the annexation of land

Cooperation with Russia is important for Turkey, but it does not envisage revision of Ankara’s position in relation to the conflicts in Ukraine and Georgia.

This position was voiced by the Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the IX conference of ambassadors in Ankara, according to Anadolu.

«We support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and Georgia. We do not recognize the annexation of the lands of Ukraine,» — said Cavusoglu.

In addition to position on Ukraine, the Minister highlighted the main issues of Turkey’s foreign policy.

In particular, Cavusoglu underlined Turkey’s support for the Geneva process on Syria and the continued fight against ISIS in Northern Syria.

The Minister also expressed hope that the results of the United States of Fethullah Gulen and focused on cooperation with Russia on the Syrian issue.

To note, Turkey in 2016 was attended by a record number of Ukrainian tourists — more than 1 million people, and the increase compared to the year 2015 was 50%.
