Three Russian citizens asked for asylum in Ukraine because of the persecution in Russia — state border service

Over the past week on the Russian-Ukrainian border have asked for refugee status in Ukraine, three citizens of Russia 45, 38 and 27 years who are being persecuted in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the State border service of Ukraine in Facebook.

«One of them arrived this morning at the checkpoint «Kiev-passenger» and the design turned an oral statement on the recognition of refugee status or person who needs additional protection. According to the Russians, he participated in rallies against corruption and the Russian opposition, in particular, Alexei Navalny, therefore, being prosecuted in the Russian Federation», – said the Ukrainian border guards.

According to authorities, one citizen of Russia asked for refugee status in the same checkpoint last Wednesday.

«The Russians said that he was forced to flee and seek asylum in Ukraine in connection with its prosecution of law enforcement agencies of Russia for participation in actions against the Russian government», – told in state frontier service.

Third citizen of the Russian Federation asked for protection in connection with his prosecution in Russia at one of the checkpoints in Chernihiv region on Tuesday.

The border guards noted that explained to citizens the procedure for applying for protection and sent them to the office of the State migration service of Ukraine.
