«This is nonsense». Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus does not agree with the Declaration of persona non grata the employee of the Embassy Skvortsova

Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Kizim does not agree with the decision of the Belarusian side to declare persona non grata the employee of the Ukrainian Embassy Igor Skvortsov, but had to do it. He said this in the comments of «Radio Liberty».

«When I was in the building of the Belarusian foreign Ministry, I was given a note about the Declaration of Igor Skvortsov persona non grata. I replied that I can’t deny, can’t run, and within a certain time Igor Skvortsov left. I said it was nonsense, but I have to do», – said Kizim.

On 20 November, the state security Committee of Belarus reported that the counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine to Belarus Igor Skvortsov declared persona non grata.

According to the KGB, Skvortsov was the employee of the Main intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of defense of Ukraine, who allegedly coordinated the intelligence activities of the Ukrainian journalist Paul Sharoika.

The official representative of KGB of Belarus Dmitry Ponarin said at a briefing that Sharoika was arrested for espionage.
