Western partners are interested in political stability of Ukraine to conduct reforms, instability is beneficial only to Russia, Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.
«It is important for them that Ukraine was on the path of reform, and this requires political preconditions. And instability plays into the hands of Russia, and they understand that perfectly,» said Klimkin at a joint press conference with the foreign Minister of Finland Timo Soini, which was held in Kiev on Wednesday, 17 February 2016.
The head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry said that foreign Ministers called him during yesterday’s government report in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Klimkin also noted that the introduction of a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union, it is critical that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the necessary «visa-free laws.»
As previously reported, on 4 February, the day after the resignation of the head of Ministry of economic development and trade (MEDT ) of Aivaras Abromaviciusaccredited in Ukraine, the ambassadors of the countries «Big seven» (G7) met with President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Parliament speaker Volodymyr Groisman, which urged the top management of the state’s commitment to the Pro-European course and democratic reforms called for in the case of the reformatting of the Cabinet to retain their posts at the foreign Ministers-technocrats.
«It is important that Ukrainian leaders abandon their petty differences, all left in the past vested interests that had held the country for decades, and has intensified the implementation of the necessary reforms», — stressed in their joint statement following the meeting.
