The view, as if we poles know well each other, is untrue – analyst Magda

One of the reasons for the deterioration of Ukrainian-Polish relations is the fact that the ruling party of Poland «law and justice» operates with an eye on the upcoming elections, said in comments to the edition «GORDON» the political analyst Yevgeny Magda.

«Relations with Poland have indeed become more complex. On the one hand, Warsaw is trying to convince Kiev that the Ukrainians more understanding needs to consider the needs of the poles in terms of national memory. On the other hand, the Polish government often manipulates the factor of being on their territory of migrant workers from Ukraine. While Poland encouraged the Ukrainians, so they went to them. However in Brussels, the poles say quite different: they say that Ukrainian labour migrants are refugees, and, therefore, no more make we can not. In addition, next year in Poland after the election. The ruling party «law and justice» is now trying to use diplomacy to demonstrate its conservative policy. And it concerns not only Ukraine, but also Germany and several other European countries,» – said the analyst.

According to him, Warsaw is using the scheduled visit of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda in Ukraine to put pressure on Kiev.

«I would pay attention to how much different the Polish parliamentary-presidential Republic from the Ukrainian. We have a President much more resolute marked its position. About the head of the Polish state say this is impossible, although he did not want to spoil relations with Kiev. Poland uses planned visit Duda in Ukraine to put pressure on Kiev, saying that it may be cancelled. We must admit that the view, as if we poles know each other, not true. Ukraine occupies the correct position, trying to reduce the degree of conflict. In my opinion, Kiev operates quite adequately,» – said Magda.

7 November released a television interview of the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, in which he called unacceptable that in important positions in Ukraine are the people who have «openly anti-Polish» and nationalist views. The foreign Ministry of Ukraine said that the government of the country is on Pro-European positions, people with anti-Polish views in it.

On 8 November it became known that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko initiated an emergency meeting of the Advisory Committee of the presidents of Ukraine and Poland with the aim of preventing further escalation of tensions between the two countries.

Duda said on November 9 that relations between Warsaw and Kiev is an important factor of history.

The Polish foreign Ministry noted that Ukraine’s decision questioning the strategic partnership between the two countries.
