«The U.S. Embassy in Moscow will also continue to conduct interviews on immigration, diversity and non-immigrant visas to a limited extent», – stated in the message.
According to the US Ambassador in Russia John Huntsman, the us wants the Russians had the opportunity to travel to the US, to get acquainted with the culture of the country, to study there and do business with American partners.
«However, we will not be able to resume the issuance of visas to the extent that we have supported to unreasonable decisions of the government of the Russian Federation to significantly reduce the number of staff of the U.S. Embassy and our three consulates. We continue to carry out their work with a significantly reduced staff, which inevitably reduced the amount of visa services. Although we are happy to resume the process, its limited nature is still a sad consequence of the decision of the Russian government to limit the state of the US diplomatic mission», – he said.
