The United States experienced two nuclear bombs B61-12 no charge

On the Tonopah test range in Nevada on 8 August, the air force of the United States conducted two qualification flight tests of the B61-12 bombs. This is stated in the report of the National administration on nuclear security.

During the test, the bomber F-15E dropped a bomb with no warhead. Military experts estimated the «non-nuclear» functions of bombs and bomber’s ability to carry and deliver the desired point of nuclear weapons.

It is noted that these tests are part of a series of tests, which will last three years, with the aim to qualify the B61-12 for maintenance. The first such test took place in March.

The B61-12 will combine and replace four other modifications of the B61 bombs in the country’s nuclear Arsenal. The first production unit scheduled to be completed by 2020.
