The Ukrainian issue is acute on the agenda of the G20 — Gerashchenko

The Ukrainian government, unfortunately, is not included in the G20, therefore, is not represented at the summit in Hangzhou. But world leaders will speak about the Ukraine – and this is very important.

Wrote the first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko on his page in Facebook.

«Ladies and gentlemen, Ukraine, unfortunately, is not included in the G20, therefore, is not represented at this summit. But it is important that the Ukrainian issue remains on the agenda. And acute,» – said Gerashchenko.

In her opinion, it is important that the leaders of the Normandy format, Merkel and Hollande did not lead to Putin’s provocations and clearly stated that Normandy format is a format 4, not 3″..

Therefore, according to Gerashchenko, the Ukrainian question – the occupation of the Crimea, which does not recognize the whole world, the question of the occupied Donbass and the implementation of the Minsk agreements will be put in front of Putin during bilateral meetings.

«It will sound, as stated by the G20 and in other formats», – writes Gerashchenko.

First Deputy Chairman of BP reminded that the Ukrainian Parliament before it was sent to all members of the G20 statement with the requirement to assist in the release of political prisoners and hostages.

However, «diplomats told all the signals to our partners about the situation in Crimea and the Donbass. And also, the President of Ukraine, as was reported by his press service, during the last weeks had telephone conversations with the leaders of Germany and France», – said Gerashchenko.

As reported, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities handed over to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande the list of Ukrainian prisoners in Russia and hostages in the occupied territories with the request during a meeting in China to put pressure on the Russian President to facilitate the release of these people.

In parallel, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has sent to the embassies of the countries participating in the G20 summit a letter with a request to call on Russia to release the Deputy head of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov and all other Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and in the Crimea.
