The Ukrainian foreign Ministry has explained to the German Ambassador that the elections in ARDLA can’t place in the presence of Russian troops

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine in conversation with the German Ambassador Alstom Reichel emphasized the inadmissibility of holding elections in the occupied territories of Donbass before the withdrawal of the Russian troops.

«On 7 February, the Ambassador of Germany in Ukraine Reichel was invited to the foreign Ministry of Ukraine. During the meeting, the German diplomat pointed to the inadmissibility of holding elections in the occupied territories of Donbass in the presence of Russian occupation troops», — informs the press service of the foreign Ministry following the meeting.

The report notes that there was clear and consistent confirmed Ukraine’s position that such elections should be held only after the withdrawal from Ukraine of the units of the Russian armed forces, and in providing such security preconditions that would allow the conduct in the Donbass free and democratic elections with the adherence to the OSCE standards and Ukrainian legislation.

«Ukraine highly appreciates the efforts of official Berlin, including in the Normandy format, aimed at the return of peace in the Donbass and the cessation of Russian aggression against Ukraine», — the report says Ukrainian foreign Ministry.

As reported, Reichel was summoned to the Ukrainian foreign Ministry to provide explanations regarding his statement about the possibility of holding elections on uncontrollable Kiev territories of Donbass before the withdrawal of the Russian troops.
