The suspect in the murder of three members of the Maidan ex-«berkutovets» left under night house arrest

The Pechersky district court of Kiev changed a measure of restraint ex-«berkutovets» Alexander Belov, who is suspected of killing three members of the revolution of Dignity, February 18, 2014 in Castle lane capital, and left it under nocturnal house arrest.

The corresponding decision on Tuesday, November 22, was made by the judge of Pechersky regional court Larissa Sokol, thus rejecting the petition of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on changing the measure of restraint Belov with a night of house arrest to detention, reports UNIAN.

We will remind, the Prosecutor’s office appealed to the Pechersk district court with a motion to detain Belov in connection with the fact that he was charged with another charge – unlawful possession of weapons and ammunition. The Prosecutor insisted on the maintenance of Belova in custody, given the seriousness of the suspicions against him, namely attempted murder and completed murder attempt, and that several witnesses pointed to him as the person who shot from firearms at the demonstrators.

Belov is a suspect in criminal proceedings on attempted murder and finished the attempted murder together with other former soldiers of the battalion of militia of special purpose «Berkut» of Main Department of MIA of Ukraine in Kharkiv region, which is February 18, 2014 attacked the participants of the revolution of Dignity, with the result that three of them were killed and more than 30 received injuries of varying severity. He was arrested this summer along with three other former soldiers in Kharkiv «Berkut». November 15, the Kyiv court of Appeals changed Belov the measure of restraint from detention to house arrest the night.
