The situation around the law «On education» not worth a damn – everyone should be happy. The law is spelled out and taken into account. the gorvat

The law «On education» does not limit the rights of national minorities in Transcarpathia, said in comments to the edition «GORDON» the member of the group for Interparliamentary relations with Hungary, the people’s Deputy from BPP Robert gorvat.

«In fact, the situation around the law «On education» not worth a damn – everyone should be happy. The law is spelled out and considered. The less speculation on this subject, and the less will throw fire wood, the faster the fire will go out. I think, the law «On education» is normal. I personally voted for him. No there is nothing no one denies,» said the gorvat.

In his opinion, the Ukrainian-Hungarian relations can be normalized after the parliamentary elections in Hungary.

«Ukraine needs to wait 8 April, when Hungary will hold parliamentary elections. After that, everything will be completely different. Just as we, in Hungary, there are different political parties who also know how to sell themselves. In particular, they use the community of Hungarians in Transcarpathia. Although it would be strange if on the eve of the elections, politicians in Hungary would not have taken any steps», – said the MP.

After the adoption on 5 September of 2017 on second reading and in General, Ukrainian law «About education», which expanded the use of the Ukrainian language in education, Hungary and several other countries expressed concern about the future of national minorities in Ukraine.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siarto stated that it will block Ukraine’s rapprochement with the EU and NATO, while Kiev will not make changes to the document.

The initiative was sent for examination to the Venice Commission, which formulated the conclusions of 8 December. Kiev has offered to amend the 7th article of non-discrimination training non-state languages that are not official in the European Union. Including it was about teaching in a secondary school in Russian.

The Commission did not insist on changing the articles of the law, but recommended that Ukraine take measures to prevent discrimination of minority languages.

The European Union said that Kiev should take into account recommendations of the Venice Commission.

14 February 2018, the Cabinet sent to the Verkhovna Rada a bill which proposed to extend the transitional period of implementation of the language article of the law «On education».

February 16, Szijjártó insisted that Ukraine should suspend the document and begin negotiations with the Transcarpathian Hungarians.

On March 28 Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olena zerkal stated that the Hungarians of Transcarpathia withdrew his concern about the Ukrainian law «About education».
