The Russians have called the most influential compatriots of the century, the first cosmonaut of the planet Yuri Gagarin, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is evidenced by the results of the vote, which Forbes magazine conducted on its website.

Readers can make a list of 10 people therefore the sum of answers does not equal 100%.

Gagarin was chosen for 52.2% of the participants, the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin – 44,6%, Russian President Vladimir Putin and 43.6%.

Top ten most influential Russians were also Soviet actor and singer Vladimir Vysotsky (35,6%), scientist and engineer Sergey Korolyov (34.6 per cent), a Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin (32.6 per cent), Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov (31.7 per cent), inventor and designer Mikhail Kalashnikov (30,9%), co-founder of the Corporation Google Sergey Brin (18,7%), co-founder of social network «Vkontakte», the Creator of the messenger Telegram Pavel Durov (16.9 percent), physicist, one of the founders of the Soviet hydrogen bomb, Andrei Sakharov (16,9%).

According to the survey conducted by «Levada-center» in April 2017, the leaders of sympathies of Russians are Stalin, Putin, poet Alexander Pushkin, Lenin and Tsar Peter I.
