The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia consider the ultimatum made by the President of the United States Donald trump’s stance against a nuclear deal on Iran, said to «Interfax» Deputy head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov.
12 January 2018, the US President announced that the United States will come from nuclear deal with Iran, if the document will not eliminate the significant deficiencies. Trump noted that his administration interacts with key European partners to develop new supplementary agreement which would provide for multilateral sanctions if Iran violates the commitments on the nuclear deal. He noted that the agreement should be indefinite.
According to Ryabkov, «that sounded yesterday, there is no invitation for Iran to engage in dialogue». The Deputy foreign Minister added that trump’s words – «this is an ultimatum Iran should «give up».
Ryabkov said that «this completely contradicts not only the principles that govern international relations – sovereign equality, mutual respect and so forth, but contrary to logic,» which is included in the Joint comprehensive action plan (nuclear deal with Iran).
20 July 2015, the UN Security Council has approved an agreement aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for lifting of sanctions. Iran ensured that refuse from the idea of creating nuclear weapons. In 10 years, in the case of the implementation of Iran nuclear agreement, all restrictions and conditions contained in this UN resolution will stop the action.
In may 2017 trump said that Iran is responsible for instability in the middle East. According to him, Tehran is financing the supply of arms and training the militias, which «are of destruction and chaos.»
October 13, trump said that Washington does not confirm full compliance by Tehran of a nuclear agreement, and announced the intention to consult with allies about how to get out of it. On the same day the U.S. Treasury Department introduced the most powerful security Agency of Iran – the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps and four companies to the sanctions list in connection with their support for terrorism.
The head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini said that the nuclear deal is a multilateral agreement, which was unanimously approved by the resolution of the UN Security Council, and trump can’t cancel.
12 January 2017, the EU declared that the EU will evaluate the trump statements about the intention to withdraw from the nuclear deal with Iran.
