The red cross is ready to participate in the identification of the victims in the ATO zone

Representatives of the delegation of the International Committee of the red cross (ICRC) in Ukraine Express readiness to participate in the process of identification of bodies of victims in the area ATO military and the information-psychological support of families in a format that would be adopted by representatives of the agencies involved in this process.

On the website of the Ministry of defence of Ukraine reported , during an interagency meeting held in the Centre for peacekeeping activities and the implementation of international treaties of Ukraine, the head of Department for military-civil cooperation APU informed about the problems in identification of the remains and the cases of refusal of their families to accept the results of examinations of DNA.

In turn, the regional coordinator of the ICRC delegation in Ukraine for forensic examination Maria Dolores Marcio Mendez and Deputy coordinator of the delegation for the protection of the population (the disappeared) , however, Bourdieu spoke about a comprehensive scientific approach to identification in complex cases and circumstances.

In the meeting, besides representatives of the Ministry of defence and the ICRC delegation in Ukraine was attended by the representatives of the interior Ministry, National police, Ministry of health, General Prosecutor’s office and SBU. During the meeting were discussed current issues on the issue of identification of bodies and information-psychological support of families of martyrs and missing persons, possible ways of its solution.

Earlier, the head of the International Committee of the red cross has promised to help Ukraine with the release of prisoners and to allocate $ 60 million.
