The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine will hand over the protection of fugitive ex-President Viktor Yanukovych clarified the suspicion of treason. This was stated by the Prosecutor of Department of the Main military Prosecutor’s office Ruslan Kravchenko , the TV channel «112 Ukraine».
«Today, defenders of Yanukovych will be handed a new suspicion, and also will be sent to all known addresses of residence and stay of the suspected of Yanukovych. Change the suspicion that we have added a new episode for the treatment. Is suspected Yanukovych of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine. During a pretrial investigation we have found that Yanukovych sent a letter about the introduction of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine to the President of the Russian Federation and in the Federation Council. Was the document addressed to the President of the Russian Federation, and was also the second document, which was addressed to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. We are talking about refined suspicion,» — said Kravchenko.
He stressed that on January 30, the Prosecutor General’s office completes a special pre-trial investigation materials and opens up the defense. Kravchenko noted that the investigation had obtained much valuable evidence, in particular the two deputies of the state Duma of the Russian Federation.
«Currently, I believe, questioned all the witnesses. They provided important evidence for the manufacture of bodies of preliminary investigation», — he said.
Earlier, prosecutors called Yanukovych on 27 and 30 January for questioning and his acquaintance with the materials of the case of treason. However, it became known that the questioning would be the defender because of the threat to the life of the suspect.
As previously reported, the Main military Prosecutor’s office of Ukraine received a photocopy of the statement of fugitive ex-President Viktor Yanukovych asking Russia to send troops to Ukraine. According to the defense Yanukovych, the documents do not establish any relationship of Viktor Yanukovych for crimes which are incriminated to him, but rather set the status of the current President of Ukraine as of March 1, 2014. Protection of Yanukovych pointed out that the presentation the previous suspicions passed in violation of existing Criminal procedural code, the Prosecutor’s office insisted on the legality of their actions.
Viktor Yanukovych is suspected of committing treason, aiding the authorities of the Russian Federation in deliberate acts committed with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory and the state border of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution, and waging aggressive war.
