The Prime Minister: we have already raised salaries and pensions, so the promises of the candidates should not count

According to Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the promises of candidates in local elections that they will increase wages and pensions is a myth. This is referred to in the video «10 minutes with Prime Minister».

«Promises that all will increase salaries, pensions, and everything will become a lot and to live happily is also a myth. The decision to raise wages and pensions has already taken the government of Ukraine. Yes, this is only the first step. Yes, I would really like to raise them much more. But all we’ve earned, all the resource that we received additionally, we have arranged to increase salaries, pensions, grants is 12.5 million Ukrainian citizens who received additional funds, starting from 1 September of the current year», — said Yatsenyuk.

According to him, the local authorities need to be transparent and effective use of funds, local budgets receive as a result of fiscal decentralization.

«We made the decision on fiscal decentralization. After all, when we have referred a number of financial powers to local communities, the income of these local communities grew by 40%. This is billions of money, to be precise — at all additionally, the local communities received 20 billion UAH. Use them transparently, effectively, and most importantly that each of you will feel that you paid the taxes relate to your personal life,» — said Yatsenyuk.

We will remind, on September 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine increased from 1 September the minimum wage to 1218 UAH to UAH 1378, the minimum subsistence level to 1330 UAH, i.e. by 13%.

At the same time, since the beginning of this year the average salary has not changed. Thus, according to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine the average salary in the country is 160 dollars, which is one of the lowest in Europe.

According to data of the International HR portal HeadHunter Ukraine, exactly half of office workers spend their monthly salary before receiving another. In this case half a year ago in such a difficult situation was only a third of white collar workers.
