The President has appointed Tochicago representative of Ukraine to the EU and Ambassador to Belgium

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has appointed Nicholas Tochicago to the post of representative of Ukraine to the European Union and the European atomic energy Community part-time.

As reported on Thursday, 4 February, the press service of the President of Ukraine, Poroshenko has signed the corresponding decree.

By another decree the President appointed Tochicago Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in Kingdom of Belgium.

Since 2010 Tochitsky worked as the permanent representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe. The President the decree has dismissed him from the post.

In 2010-2015, the head of mission of Ukraine to the European Union Konstantin Eliseev, July 15, 2015 was appointed Deputy head of the presidential Administration of Ukraine.

Recall that the media at the end of November last year reported that Tochitsky in the near future should be appointed to the post of representative of Ukraine to the European Union. According to journalists, the initiator of this appointment was Konstantin Eliseev — sources say that he recommended the President to stop the candidature of Tochicago.

Nikolai Tochitsky is a career diplomat.

In 1993 graduated from Kyiv state University (philologist, translator of French and English), and in 1995 the Institute of international relations (associate in international law).

In the system of MFA of Ukraine, since 1993. He worked in the Central apparatus of the MFA, representative offices of Ukraine in Belgium, France (Strasbourg), USA (San Francisco), and from 2008 to 2010 — in the presidential Secretariat.
