The Pechersky court has not allowed the GPU to start an investigation against Klimenko due to the mismatch of the criminal code

The Pechersky regional court of Kiev returned to the state office of public Prosecutor the petition for permission to begin correspondence investigations against the former Minister of revenue and duties Alexander Klimenko.

This is stated in the court ruling of 15 February, according to «Ukrainian news».

The state office of public Prosecutor asked court to allow to start the procedure of conviction Klimenko as a suspect in the misappropriation of 616 million hryvnias of public funds as head of the State tax service.

The court refused to consider the motion, noting that the written suspicion the attorney General’s office was sent to the wrong address. Therefore, the court found the application inconsistent with the provisions of the Criminal procedure code.

«In this case, it should be recognized that failure to comply with applicable laws, cited above, is significant and makes it impossible to solve the set before the investigative judge of the matter,» said the judge Larisa socket.

The request for early absentee investigations against Klimenko was sent to the Pechersk court on June 30, 2015.

On 28 July the Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin said that the Pechersky regional court of Kiev began the process of conviction 6 former high-ranking officials, including Klimenko.

Earlier, prosecutors claimed that the court blocks the initiation of an investigation against Klimenko.
