The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the resolution «On celebration of memorable dates and anniversaries in 2016» (registration No. 3807).
For this decision voted 244 of 329 MPs registered in the session hall, UNIAN reports.
With the voice of the Chairman of the parliamentary Committee on culture and spirituality Nicholas knyazhytsky made a proposal about the celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the Crimean Tatars rally in Simferopol for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and then «will be prepared the resolution on the respective special day that we allowed the Crimean Tatars to be held in Kyiv related activities».
According to the resolution, this year at the state level will be celebrated on anniversaries and anniversaries: 25 years since the proclamation of independence of Ukraine (24.08.1991); 20 years since the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine (28.06.1996); provided to honor the memory of outstanding personalities, in particular, on August 27 — 160 years since the birth of Ivan Franko (1856-1916), writer, scientist, social activist; 29 September — 150th anniversary of birth of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi (1866-1934), scientist, historian, politician and statesman, Chairman of the Central Council; 370 years since the birth of Ivan Skoropadsky (about 1646-1722), Hetman of left-Bank Ukraine (1708-1722); June 25 — 130 years since the birth of Ivan Nan (1886-1967), a scientist, a historian; July 17 — 170 years since the birth of Nikolai miklouho-Maclay (1846-1888), ethnographer, geographer; may 9 — 80 years birthday of Yuri Illienko (1936-2010), film Director, cameraman, writer, teacher, people’s artist of Ukraine.
Among the days of remembrance of the decree stipulates: 90 years since the assassination of Simon Petliura (26.05.1926); 75 years since the mass executions of political prisoners in Western Ukraine (06-07.1941); 75 years since the first executions at Babi Yar (29-30.09.1941).
