The number of dead in the attack in Baghdad has increased to 290 people

The death toll in two bomb blasts in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday, reached 290 people, according to TV channel Al Mayadeen. According to the channel, 180 wounded remain in hospitals. Another 17 people were missing. Earlier it was reported 250 victims.

A car bomb exploded in the city center in the district of al-karrada, where there are a large number of restaurants and retail space. People flocked to the lively, to make purchases ahead of the holiday of breaking the fast, marks the end of fasting month of Ramadan.

The explosion led to a fire in several buildings. According to Iraqi media, the body was taken from under the debris of burnt and destroyed buildings.

Another explosion occurred on 3 July in the mainly Shiite quarter of Baghdad, al-Shaab, near a popular local population market. It was reported that as a result of the accident killed five or six people, 16 injured.
