The NATO delegation will inspect APU

The delegation of NATO headed by a representative of the Department of defence policy and planning of NATO’s International staff David brown, who is in Ukraine, from the 29th to the 31st of August, will inspect the Armed forces of Ukraine. This was reported by press service of the defense Ministry of Ukraine.

Brown said that by the end of October 2017 it is planned «to finalize the inventory directory means of the APU, which are set out in accordance with the criteria of NATO.»

«We are talking about an integrated vision of what is available, what tasks are. This will allow you to work out the answers to those scenarios that may arise in the future,» he said.

Ukraine has intensified its cooperation with NATO in 2014, against the annexation of Crimea to Russia and armed conflict in the Donbass. At the end of 2014, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that requires the refusal of Ukraine from the policy of «non-alignment».

In accordance with the new Military doctrine of Ukraine, adopted in 2015, the deepening of cooperation with NATO and the achievement of the 2020 full interoperability of the Armed forces of Ukraine with armies of the countries – members of NATO is a priority. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the decision on Ukraine’s accession to NATO will be made at the referendum.

June 8, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law, which secured Ukraine’s intention to join NATO.
