Commander of the National guard of Ukraine Yuriy Alleru announces participation of national guard units in peacekeeping missions around the world.
He reported about it during session of the joint Collegium of the interior Ministry and the Ministry of justice on the theme: «From new police to new of justice and safety of citizens» on Wednesday, February 10, in Kiev, transfers UNIAN.
«During the reform today, we clearly understand that the preparation of samples and standards NATO requires us to have the appropriate structure. We started, and preliminary steps taken in the creation of a modern training center of national guard of international standard, there are certain plans, we have the calculations,» he said.
Alleru expressed the hope that foreign partners will provide assistance to Ukraine in reforming the national guard.
«One of the tasks of the national guard – the implementation of peacekeeping missions, we will be together to perform around the world,» said Alleron.
«We have serious combat experience, which we use in the course of the reformation from the point of view of how to ensure the safety of our citizens», — said the commander of the NSU.
Recall, the Cabinet of Ministers has resolved the regulatory activities of the Ministry of internal Affairs on the preparation of Ukrainian peacekeepers, having brought corresponding amendments in item 4 of the Regulations on the Ministry approved by the government resolution of October 28 2015 No. 878.
According to the document, the Ministry of internal Affairs will carry out a full complex of actions for selection, preparation and training of Ukrainian peacekeepers.
The Ministry of internal Affairs will organize the involvement of the national contingent and national personnel of the soldiers of the National guard, National police officers and of persons of ordinary and commanding composition of Public service of Ukraine on emergency situations and ensure their participation in international peacekeeping operations and security.
As reported, in late 2015, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a joint briefing with the Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden in Kiev said that Ukraine is ready to support the anti-terrorist coalition, carrying out the operation in Syria. According to the President, Ukraine already has the experience of fighting terrorism.
