The national Commission will increase the wholesale market price for electricity in Ukraine to 2018

The wholesale market price for electricity in Ukraine to 2018 will grow by 16.2%. This decision today at the session adopted the national Commission exercising state regulation in the sphere of energy and utilities (NKREKU), the document is published on the Agency’s website.

The wholesale market price of electricity will increase from 1 January 2018 9.5% (up to 1495,46 UAH per 1 MW/h without VAT) as from 1 April and by another 6.1 percent (up to 1586,69 UAH per 1 MW/h without VAT).

The projected average annual wholesale market price of electric energy in 2018 will amount to 1561,99 UAH per 1 MWh (without VAT).

According to the draft decision, the increase in wholesale market prices due to inflation, wage growth, the devaluation of the hryvnia and the increase in gas prices by 16.7% coal 38.3%, which is calculated on the basis of the European index, including delivery to Ukraine (formula «Rotterdam plus»).
