The moratorium on inspections of business in Ukraine may extend «at least a year»

The moratorium on inspections of business in Ukraine, introduced on the proposal of the government in August 2014 and was extended to the end of 2015 to the first half of this year, may be extended and further still «at least a year», said during the briefing in the government the head of State regulatory service of Ukraine Kseniya Lyapina, UNIAN reports.

She recalled that in November 2015 the Verkhovna Rada adopted in first reading a bill to extend the moratorium on business inspections, and now, according to Lyapina, work in parliamentary committees continues.

«I think it will be decided to extend the moratorium for at least a year,» — said Lyapina. However, she stressed that the moratorium will have a clear mechanism of exceptions, when inspections will be conducted, but the government decided, for example, or on the basis of serious complaints or valid claim.

As reported, the moratorium on business inspections, introduced in August 2014, does not apply to routine fiscal audits, but it is an important way of business support for the period of the reform of the regulatory system in Ukraine. Currently the Ministry of economic development actively develops the project of creation of a special electronic registry of inspections, which will accumulate all the data about planned fiscal inspections of businesses.

As previously stated Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the Ukrainian government is ready to return to the practice of conducting inspections of businesses, however, it is necessary to overcome corruption.
