The Montenegrin authorities will be judged in absentia of Russians suspected of organizing the coup and the attempted assassination of Prime Minister

The Montenegrin authorities investigating the attempted murder of former Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and coup in the country, ready to be judged in absentia of citizens of the Russian Federation Edward Shirokov and Vladimir Popov, involved in this case.

As informs Radio «Freedom», stated the Montenegrin Prosecutor Veljko Rutovic the state television RTCG.

According to him, planning the murder of Djukanovic, who after the election left the post, is just impossible. He is also accused of creating a criminal organization and attempted terrorist attacks.

45-year-old Shirokov cheats and 36-year-old Popov of the Mound has recently been announced in the international search. Their information and photos posted on the Interpol website.

According to investigators, the Russians together with a group of citizens of Serbia have created criminal group which was preparing a large-scale riots and capture of state institutions in Montenegro immediately after the parliamentary elections of 16 October 2016. Right before the voting in Montenegro was detained 20 citizens of Serbia. Later, the Montenegrin authorities stated about the involvement of «Russian nationalists» to this case, stating at the same time that they have no evidence of their relations with the authorities of the Russian Federation. It is assumed that the plot could have involved up to 500 people.

Moscow denied any involvement in the incident.
