The Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation received a request from Ukraine on the transfer of the Director Oleg Sentsov and three more convicts the citizens of Ukraine and will consider it within 30 days.

«Treatment of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine in respect Sentsov, Kolchenko, Afanasyev and Soloshenko was admitted to the Ministry of justice of Russia on March 10 by Fax. The term of consideration of documents is 30 days», — reported in the Russian Ministry of justice.
The Ministry also noted that Russia and Ukraine are considered reference of the 13 Russians, Ukrainian courts sentenced to imprisonment, for serving sentence in Russia.
In the Russian Ministry explained that the transfer of convicts between Russia and Ukraine are governed by the Convention on the transfer of sentenced persons of 1983 and the Criminal procedure code of the Russian Federation.
«On the basis of the received complaints the Ministry of justice (Russia — ed.) claims of the FSIN (Federal service of execution of punishments, — ed.) of the Ukrainian side the necessary documents in respect of those convicted, named by the Convention provided, — have explained in Russian the Ministry of justice.
«Upon receipt the documents will be checked for compliance with the provisions of the Convention, including the presence or absence of grounds preventing the transfer of the convicted person», — is told in the message.
Then the documents will be forwarded to the Ukrainian side for consideration on the merits.
«When you receive from the Ministry of justice of Ukraine necessary documents, including judicial decision on the recognition and enforcement in Ukraine of the verdict of the Russian court, the Russian Ministry of justice would be directed FSIN to make representations to the court in the manner prescribed by the criminal procedure code», — reported in Department.
And the final decision on the transfer of the convict, according to Russian law, accepted in court.
«The come into force decision of the court the Ministry of justice forwarded to the Ministry of justice of Ukraine as the basis for the transfer of the convicted in Russia of a citizen of this state with a request to instruct the competent authorities of the designated state to agree on the issue of actual transfer of the convict from the Federal penitentiary service,» — said in the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation.

August 25, 2015 the North Caucasus district military Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in a penal colony, his accomplice, Alexander Kolchenko — to 10 years in strict regime colony.
