However, the Deputy Minister recalled that the entry into force of the visa-free regime for Ukraine and Georgia will be tied to the timing of the entry into force of the EU decision on the introduction of a mechanism to suspend visa-free regime for other States.

Mirror: October is a critical period for the continuation of sanctions against Russia

In October of this year in Europe could start an active discussion on the extension of sanctions against Russia, Ukraine should ensure that these sanctions were maintained, said Elena zerkal.

«We still have a few months, when we must all work towards the same goal. The goal of maintaining sanctions. They (EU officials — ed.) they can begin to discuss in October. October for us is a critical month when we must ensure the continuation of the sanctions policy,» — said zerkal.

She noted that Russia had launched a campaign in the EU of the ineffectiveness of the sanctions.

«It (policy of the Russian Federation on sanctions — ed.) is quite efficient … They spread information about the economic losses incurred by the countries of the European Union in connection with these sanctions. Is a full-scale manipulation of public opinion in European countries … This is not true,» said the diplomat.

Zerkal noted that much will depend on the kind of information policy in the EU will lead Ukraine and will she be able to reach the hearts of ordinary citizens».

Earlier, German foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier spoke in favour of a gradual abolition of sanctions against Russia in case of substantial progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

Recall that in early July the European Union decided to extend economic sanctions against Russia over its actions in Ukraine for another six months. Sanctions extended until 31 January 2017.
