The foreign Ministry expects that the final decision on the abolition of visas for citizens of Ukraine will be decided in the spring to complete the race in France, but it will come into force after the election.
This was stated in an interview with «European truth» Olena zerkal, Deputy Minister for foreign Affairs on European integration.
«Our timeline that we are moving to visa-free travel, says that the final decision on bizwise will be made before elections in France, but it will come into force probably not before the elections,» — said zerkal.
She also pointed out that the possibility of failure bezveza not considered, as the EU has already made a political decision, «all the heads of member States of the European Union have signed it.»
Elena zerkal hopes that the summer visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine will work in practice.
A spokeswoman for the foreign Ministry also said that the EU unreasonably delaying the adoption of this decision.
«It is unfair to artificially delay the start of the Trialogue with Ukraine, as it does now. And so it would be unfair to keep Georgians in the EU Council until the Ukrainian side does not pass all the procedures.
But we’re talking about the EU, and they will always find a procedure, which can complicate the process. Unfortunately, it seems that this is happening,» she said.
Earlier in the European Parliament, explained in detail how it will be finally adopted a mechanism for the temporary suspension of the visa-free regime of the European Union with third countries, and also spoke about the time frame when they launched the inter-institutional negotiations on the granting of visa-free regime to Ukraine.
As reported by the Deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine Konstantin Eliseev, the European Union has postponed granting Ukraine a visa-free regime due to the positions of individual member countries.
«The delay was because of the position of individual member countries, which is very difficult to cross the psychological barrier in the area of visa liberalization with one of the largest countries of Europe. Now I would speak only about France. Despite the fact that the French side perceives this fact sensitive, it must be admitted. I hope France won’t delay the technical procedure until the presidential election in April 2017,» – said Elisha.
In turn, the first Deputy speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko said earlier that delaying the EU granting Ukraine a visa-free regime has led to the fact that the EU started to lose the trust of the Ukrainian society.
