«The Ministry of culture carries out continuous monitoring of the religious situation in the territory occupied by the Russian Federation of the Crimea and parts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. «November 7, militants had set the Foundation stone for the construction of the monument to Prince Alexander Nevsky — the Saint that is considered protector of the borders of Russia and the heavenly patron of Russian warriors. The place for construction of the monument was consecrated by Metropolitan of Luhansk and Alchevsk Mitrofan ( Yurchuk), together with the clergy of the Lugansk diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and in the presence of representatives of the self-proclaimed «Luhansk people’s Republic» («head» Igor Plotnitsky, head of the «National Council of the Republic» Volodymyr Degtyarenko, «Minister of culture, sports and youth» Oksana Cocotinos)», — stated in the message.

«January 14 the ruling Hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Feodosia and Kerch Platon (Udovenko), who last year participated in the meetings of the Holy Synod of the UOC (at least his signature under documents of meetings), in Russian-occupied Crimea sanctified modern anti-aircraft air defense missile systems of the armed forces of the Russian Federation s-400 «Triumph», — the Ministry noted.

The Ministry also encourages the leadership of the UOC to publicly condemn the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine, recognized at the international level, as well as to pay special attention and provide appropriate canonical disciplinary evaluation of systemic anti-Ukrainian statement and actions of individual representatives of the clergy and the higher clergy of the UOC.

Recall that in November last year a meeting was held all-Ukrainian Council of churches and religious organizations in the city of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region. The meeting was held in a military tent on the basis of «Sarmat». According to its results it was decided to Appeal at promoting peace and development of the Ukrainian society.
