The Ministry expects real GDP growth in 2017 in Ukraine at the level of 1.8%

On 28 September the Ministry of economic development the results of discussions with experts in the field of forecasting in the public sector and business is published the consensus forecast, according to which, in 2017, experts expect real GDP growth to be 1.8%.

«The consensus estimate of GDP growth in 2018 to 3% in 2019 of 3.6% in 2020 – 4%. Inflation is projected by experts at the level of 12.2% in 2017 (based on December to December of the previous year), 8% in 2018, and 5.9% in 2019 5% in 2020,» the document reads.

In the consensus forecast contained average values of the main forecasted indicators of economic development of Ukraine, which are calculated on the basis of expert assessments of survey participants.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said on 21 September that Ukraine’s economy has been growing for six consecutive quarters.

According to state statistics, from April to June of 2017, real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine grew by 2.4% compared to the same period in 2016.

On June 6 the world Bank improved the forecast of GDP growth in Ukraine to 2018, from 3% to 3.5%. The Bank has kept the GDP growth forecast for the current year at 2%.

According to the forecast of international rating Agency Fitch, in 2018, the GDP growth may reach 3% due to improved consumer demand and investment.
