The implementation of the EU standards of food safety is in Ukraine 5-7 years – Gospodarevskaya

The introduction of European food safety standards will be in Ukraine for 5-7 years, whereas today the principles of the European Union at the level of legislation introduced by 30-40%, reported the press service of the State veterinary and phytosanitary service with reference to Deputy head of the State service on food safety and consumer protection Volodymyr Lapa.

«We are in the process of evolution, and our task is to do everything possible so that the largest possible number of domestic enterprises has gained recognition on the European market, and in the future we should move towards full recognition of equivalence of security systems products. Realistically, we are not talking about months, but about 5-7 years», — said Lapa.

He noted that despite the fact that at the legislative level, the European standards accepted by 30-40%, Ukrainian producers work individually on their implementation in their production, to gain access to foreign markets. In particular, today 250 Ukrainian companies entered the market of the EU.

Paw noted that Ukraine is also implementing a system of fast warning consumers about the potential dangers of products — Rapex (it does not apply to foods, drugs, chemicals). The necessary software ready in Ukraine by 90% and the system implementation will begin after Gospodarevskaya start full work. According to Paws, Rapex will significantly improve the ability of Ukrainian manufacturers to the European markets.
