The IMF has denied the application of the Reva, the Ukrainian authorities have agreed to raise the retirement age

The Director of the press office of the International monetary Fund Gerry rice at a press briefing on 9 February 2017 said that the Ukrainian government accepted the conditions of the IMF program, including the agreed «comprehensive pension reform».

«This includes consideration of all options for progress towards a more modern system with clear rules that provide measures relatively longer time of employment and later retirement,» he was quoted by «UKRINFORM».

It is noted that in this way the IMF representative responded to a request to comment on the recent statements of the Minister of social policy of Ukraine Andriy Reva, which did not agree with the need to raise the retirement age in Ukraine.

Recall, February 1, Reva said that the IMF demands to raise the retirement age for the Ukrainians, but in the current situation, the Ministry has no arguments in favor of such a measure.

The Minister stressed that raising the retirement age will be the last step after exhausting all possibilities of solving the problems of the Pension Fund.

«If I was convinced that the pension age should be increased, I would have gone out and publicly stated this. I would have assumed political courage, but I have no arguments for this. I see other possible solutions to the problem» — summed up Reva.

February 6 a similar statement was made close to the President Peter Poroshenko, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr danylyuk.
