The government resumed payment of pensions to 90 thousand immigrants

The government resumed pension payments for 90 thousand displaced persons, which are on the list of SBU from-for suspicions in residence on the territory which is temporarily not controlled by Ukrainian authorities. About it the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said on air of the channel «NTU», reports «UKRINFORM».

«After SBU gave us a list of 450 thousand migrants, who, according to SBU, do not live permanently on the territory that is controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, we certainly have carried out the relevant checks and the suspension of payments. We are talking primarily about pension payments,» he said.

«Today, 450 thousand of these pensions, which were suspended, they resumed for about 90 thousand people — this means that only 90 thousand people are displaced and have a right, in accordance with the applicable Ukrainian laws, to receive a pension on the territory that is controlled by the Ukrainian authorities», — said Rozenko.

According to him, the Ukrainian government is certainly very concerned about the social and humanitarian situation in the occupied territory.

«We understand the terrible conditions people live there, but we must also clearly understand that there is an occupation regime and the Ukrainian government is not able to provide it required social services, to pay pensions and social benefits, because we don’t know where to get the funds from the Ukrainian budget», — he said.

Vice Prime Minister stressed that only in two cases it is possible to restore the process of payment of pensions to such citizens, the person can move to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, or after the return of full control over its territories through the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
