The government of Estonia banned to enter the country 49 the defendants in the «Magnitsky list»

The government of Estonia on March 29 banned the entry of foreigners to 49 of the «Magnitsky list». This was reported by the press service of the Estonian Ministry of foreign Affairs.

«The unity and determination of the government on this issue is evidence of our desire to draw attention to the increasing violations of international law committed by Russia. We cannot respond to human rights violations», – said the foreign Minister of Estonia Sven Mixer.

According to him, Tallinn this step wants to «send a message to our allies.»

«We all have to respond to attempts to undermine the rules-based global order and thereby contribute to our security,» – said Mixer.

The Estonian foreign Ministry has proposed the government to use the «Magnitsky list» as a response to the poisoning in Britain of a Russian spy Sergei Skripal. In parallel Tallinn expelled a Russian diplomat, wrote «the New newspaper».

The laws, named in honor of lawyer of Hermitage Capital of Sergei Magnitsky, who died in 2009 in a remand prison in Moscow at the age of 37 years, except for Estonia, approved in the United States, Canada, the UK, Latvia and Lithuania.

To enter those countries have banned the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, Deputy Prosecutor General Victor Greene, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, state Duma Deputy Andrei Lugovoi and others.
